Choral music has the incredible power to unite, inspire, and transform lives! Across Canada, post-secondary student choirs and singing groups are bursting with talent and creativity and it is worth celebrating! That’s why we’re excited to introduce the Choral Canada Student Chapter Showcase—a vibrant initiative to celebrate these groups and ignite a passion for group singing among students.

The Podium Conference and Festival committee is accepting applications from singing groups/choirs of all kinds to perform at PODIUM 2026, May 14-17, 2026, in Victoria, BC. We are seeking proposed concert programs that expand our minds, open our hearts, and highlight different composers and music creators from across the country and beyond.

Choral Canada is seeking six individuals who are representative of the richly diverse choral and group singing communities in which we live and who can help provide the organization with the broadest input.

Choral Canada is seeking one (1) individual to join the Choral Canada Student Chapter (CCSC) Executive Committee as the “Anacrusis Editorial Board Representative”. Anacrusis is Choral Canada’s choral journal publication.

Do you or your organization receive funding from Canada Council for the Arts and/or Canadian Heritage and/or participate in projects funded by them? The Canadian Arts Coalition, representing artists and arts organisations across Canada, calls on the Federal Government to adopt a permanent 1% funding commitment to the arts, culture and heritage in Canada. Let's make history together!

On September 30, Choral Canada staff will observe the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day. They will participate in local Indigenous-led events, honouring and remembering the children that were torn away from their families for over 100 years and stripped of their traditions, languages, and cultural practices. The impacts continue to this day and we must listen and take action to support the Indigenous communities locally and across the country.

* Deadline extended to November 1, 2024 * We are looking for our next Editor-in-Chief for Anacrusis, the official journal of Choral Canada! Anacrusis currently contains peer-reviewed articles, focus columns, special features, non-peer reviewed academic articles, Student Chapter articles, reviews of books and choral recordings, and information about Choral Canada’s programs, services, and advocacy initiatives.

PODIUM 2026 will be held in Victoria, British Columbia from May 14-17, 2024 and co-hosted by Choral Canada and the British Columbia Choral Federation (BCCF). We are seeking volunteers from BC to fill the positions of 2026 CO-CHAIRS and others from across the country to join the Podium ORGANIZING COMMITTEE. If you are interested in helping to bring PODIUM 2026 to life via monthly meetings and sub-committee work, we want to hear from you!
